I am here googling away for all of the places that I might want to see when I hit the road with Laddie, I know there are so many amazing places in my neck of the woods that I haven't taken the time to go out and see or learn about. As it turns out there are many do's and don't to road trips and staying in your car over night, who knew!? I am pretty excited about turning my little Escape into a mini camper for Laddie and I for several days. Anyone have any suggestions for this that I might not have read about? I have already figured out how to take out the seat cushions in the back to give me almost 8 more inches of headroom so that I can easily lay flat, Laddie just sleeps in a tiny ball... no concerns there lol. Just living in masses of Laddie hair all over the car for several days may drive me bonkers but it will so be worth it in the end. I would love to get in a few hikes/trail runs on my trip as well and check out some awesome view points along they way. Places ...

Pete Lamonica, Inspirational Runner

I first met Pete at the Seattle Green Lake Running Group , Tuesday evening run several months ago. I knew he was still new to running but I had no idea how new or how much he has changed his life. I heard him say in passing that he'd recently lost a bit of weight. I didn't think too much of it but then I noticed that Pete was getting faster and faster during his runs. I'm not talking just few seconds here and there, Pete has dropped minutes off his average pace! He has completely transformed over this year. I have really enjoyed watching him fall in love with running and be naturally awesome at it! Finally one day I decided I needed to know his story.  When did you realize that you needed to make a change in your life? I had just finished running a 1km leg of a 5km relay. I'd never run a race before, but when a friend invited me to participate in the Fremont Briefcase Relay, I thought that would be fun. I figured that even though I'd never run more than a mi...

This weekend was the first week of longer runs in my training plan. Saturday I was to run 14 and Sunday 8 but I decided to have a bit of fun on Saturday and I ran the Rain Run half marathon with my friend Peter. It was the perfect weather for the run, it was in the 40s and it sprinkled the whole race! I have worked with race directors before and they are just the nicest people! Plus, they put on a really great race experience every time. They don't let the fact that the race is small effect the quality of the support that they give on or off the course. They have nice aid stations and a fun start/finish area. What I also like about The Rain Run is that they don't do shirts, they actually give out umbrellas instead. Fitting, right!? I highly recommend this race.  Peter and I crossing the muddy finish line! Yep, I finished half marathon #25! It was a lot of fun running with Peter as well. It made the time go by so fast! We just chatted and had a great time. I shou...
