Overcoming the obstacles of life.

Running after the holidays is never easily. Finding your grove once again can almost seem impossible. I have been out for a couple of runs in this new year and it has been a little rough to start. But Anthony and I have made a pact to workout and run more frequently and step up our game dramatically to get ready for the Mountains to Beach full marathon in May. It really isn't that far away!  We are wanting to create an amazing memorable experience with our trip to California for the run but we aren't quite sure what we would like to do yet. Ideally we would fly down, rent a car and take two weeks to drive back up to WA but that seems a bit of a stretch, in a good way though because Anthony just received the great news that he will be switching to a new company in a couple of weeks. Congratulations to him on moving up in his career! So we may just make it a luxurious weekend on the beach with a marathon thrown in. Can't get much more relaxing than that!  I am so grate...

"You know you are a runner if..." Confessions of a runner

I noticed something strange the last few times I bought myself gifts... they all have a strange theme to them. . . then today when I was getting ready for work I chuckled to myself thinking, "Yep, I'm a runner!" There is a bike and two more boards full of running memorabilia! Ok ok enough with the running bibs and encouragement clippings! On to t...

How do you plan on living your life? How do you plan on getting to your goal? My goal is to live as long as my grandpa but more importantly, live life like my grandpa. This weekend he turned 91 years young! Happy Birthday Grandpa! For me I hope to be like my grandpa by living in the moment, loving and forgiving, remembering to give more than I receive, to be humble and selfless, and staying as healthy as I can.  (Out to breakfast, his favorite is my favorite! Biscuits and gravy!) My grandpa never slows down, he is constantly moving and he is by far the hardest person to get ahold of! He is never home! He is always going out and about, spending time with friends and family, going to community activities and church functions, taking care of his home (including a dozen chickens, a dog and a horse), and helping others. (Grandpa feeding the horse, yes that's the hay in mid air as he tossed it! Go Grandpa!) My grandpa has one of the biggest hearts of any person I have ever met. He is alw...
