Travel Bug Hold Over


I have recently taken up jogging and cycling. When I can, I use a wonderful trail called the Frisco Highline Trail near my apartment. It is a 35-mile trail that goes from Springfield, MO to Bolivar, MO, it is perfect for walks, jogs, runs, cycling, rollerblading, etc. There are some magnificent views along the as well. These pictures are from the southern portion going north towards Bolivar. On the Bolivar side there are dozens of bridges that I have yet to see, but I can't wait!

This is a picture perfect farm that I saw around the seven mile marker. I just couldn't pass it without taking a picture.
 This is what I saw hitting the eight mile marker. It explains its self.

That's right, I said it. And you know it's true. Today I thought I'd share with you a few memes that make me laugh.  This one is huge for me! Every time I see someone actively working out at the gym that is over weight I want to go up and give them a high five and say they are awesome.  Enough said! How I feel after long runs. Yeeps! 520 10k

Did you know that Seattle hosts that largest floating bridge in the world! And for their grand opening they hosted a 10k race! The Go Long 520 10k , how cool is that! This was one opportunity that I just couldn't miss. This was the first 10k that I have run in months and months. So I really didn't know what to expect as far as pace. My goal was to get below 1 hour and I did! I came in at 57 minutes! Which is the fastest I have ever run 10k.  The race had many issues, bottle-necking was the primary one. Thankfully I was keeping a fast enough pace to miss out on those problems though. But considering that it was a pop up race that had never been done before, I think it went very well.    My power pose for finally getting below 1 hour! Keep on Running!
