Seahawk Shoes!

Image
That's right, I said it! Seahawk Shoes! I spent some time trying my best to be creative and made two pairs of Seahawk Shoes. One for me and another for a friend. This is what it turned out to be!  This was my pair. I added tons of Seahawk inspired details, right down to the shoe laces! This is the pair I made for my friend. I think they turned out great! First try too! I am not too sure I'd be willing to do it again though, simply because it was WAY harder than I thought it would be! From the paint being hard to work with to the shoe laces not fitting through the shoe charms. >.<   But I managed to get them done. I bought some ribbon when I was buying supplies for these, their may be some bows in the works as well! I do have a Seahawks 12k coming up soon!

Gym Gym Gym and Repeat!

There are many things that can cause hiccups in our daily routines. I have a hard time staying on track with my goals and but there are always things that can pull us back into reality for me, goals, attainable ones can put be back on the right track. Right now is Lent and I set some high goals for me this year but so far I have been doing extremely well and staying on the right path. I have been going to the gym every day and getting some great workouts in. I also have decided that I love the store Ross . I'm not a clothes person really, so that's not why I love it. They have the Best deals on small workout gear. I have bought my kettle bells, lifting gloves, Nike Studio Wraps ($55 "shoes" for $8!), hand grips, massage rollers, etc etc all from Ross for a fraction of the price that you'd pay at a sporting good store! Recently I bought one of these guys: I have been looking for one of these but haven't wanted to pay for them! A saddle cover that I can

That's right, I said it. And you know it's true. Today I thought I'd share with you a few memes that make me laugh.  This one is huge for me! Every time I see someone actively working out at the gym that is over weight I want to go up and give them a high five and say they are awesome.  Enough said! How I feel after long runs. Yeeps! The best one yet!  To have the enthusiasm of this girl! I hope you all enjoyed and at least giggled once or twice, yes, giggled!  Keep on running!

Running on the Wall 10k

Image
She Believed, So She Did . The title of the most recent Running on the Wall 10k . This Saturday I went out for my run for this 10k and I had a blast! I turned on the Running Radio Mix on Pandora and just went out for nice casual run. Dancing a bit to the tunes along the way. It was picture perfect weather for the run too, sunny, gentle breeze and not too hot or too cold. Perfect for a fun run in the sun! Yes, be jealous lol.  I found the race on their Facebook page and decided I just had to do it. The motto they chose for the race is reason enough! But they also gave out nifty medals, tank tops, bracelets, and bibs for those who participated.  How girly was this race!? Perfect really. To "compete" in this race you have to take a photo of you and your time and submit it online. Here was my submission: If you haven't done a virtual race, I recommend trying one! This one was particularly fun because of the FB involvement with the other runners, Posting about how o

Lent on crack!

Image
I have taken part in Lent now for many many years. I usually give up one thing for six weeks but this year I felt like I needed to do a crack down on myself and refocus. That being said I am giving up a few things this year. Stop it with the Sloth! (One of the 7 deadly sins, in layman's terms, being lazy.)  Run a minimum of 1 mile every day Only watch one episode of TV on the days that I work Apply to at least one job every day No junk food Including no alcohol So it's two concepts with a few parts. But hopefully I can stick with it. Usually I am very successful when it comes to the things that I give up every year for Lent. I think the deeper meaning behind the actions really helps to keep me motivated. What is Lent? And why do I celebrate it? Here is a quick run down from Wikipedia:  Lent   is a solemn religious observance in the  liturgical calendar  of many  Christian  denominations that begins on  Ash Wednesday  and covers a period of approximately

Spring Training!

Image
Spring training is about to start for the Seattle Mariners! I am so excited that the baseball season is getting ready to start back up. For those of you who don't know, baseball is by far my favorite sport. I love it all! I grew up a semi-Cubs fan. Being that I couldn't watch any games because they weren't played on local TV. But I inherited the team from my family. Now that I am an adult I am a Mariner's fan and love the fact that I can now go to the games!  In celebration of season getting ready to start back up I finally ordered myself a jersey! Unfortunately the style that I wanted no longer is available in a women's size so I had to order a youth size but none the less, I have my jersey!  I cannot wait to show my Mariner's pride! I am definitely one of the "decked out" fans. I have hair bows, earrings, jackets, t-shirts, ball caps, etc. Right now I am even looking at creating my own shoes! Strange idea, but true. I have a pair of Seahawks s

Runners Problem: New Shoes: New Balance WR1

Image
This week I was super excited to try out my new running shoes  New Balance   WR1 . On Friday I decided to get a little run in on the treadmill. I was only planning on three miles because they are bran new shoes and because they are Zero drop shoes I knew that it'd take some getting used to. But I was feeling really good and they were really comfortable and I love running in them so I just kept on running. I reached almost 6 miles and felt fine. A little tense but I stretched extra long afterwards to help with cramping.  In result: I could barely walk for two days! I knew better... I should have stopped, but I didn't. I knew better from previous shoes AND there is a warning label on the tag to take it easy when you first start using them. My calves were so sore that I looked like a toddler just starting to learn how to walk. Take it easy when the label says to!  That being said, I loved these guys! I have a feeling they will only be treadmill and very nice road running shoe

Rise and shine and welcome the new day!

Image
Rise and shine my lovely people! It is officially Tuesday morning. Did you survive your Monday? I did, but just barely. After my long day at work, Anthony convinced me to go to the gym and I was so tired and didn't feel like staying very long so we did 20 minutes on the stairmaster. I set it at nine and just went with it and I managed to do a full 20 minutes on nine which equaled out to 102 flights of stairs during my workout. Which isn't bad at all! So I'm still glad he convinced me to go to the gym even though I felt too tired. I left drenched in sweat and feeling quite a bit better. It's amazing how good of a workout you can get and only 20 minutes on the stairmaster. That just shows even a short workout is much better than no work out at all. And pushing a bit harder than I normally do on the stairmaster ended up feeling pretty good too. Afterwards we watched the movie The Boxtrolls, it was pretty interesting. There were people exploding and even cross dress

High Nuun All Day!

Image
As in wearing Nuun all day! I was really excited to be able to try my very first Nuun tablet today, I got my water in my water bottle and dropped in my tablet and closed it… Big mistake! My water bottle has a straw in it. There are no warning labels on the Nuun containers but maybe there should be. Why? Because I opened the tab on my water bottle after it finished dissolving and it exploded like a geyser all over me! So I was completely covered in Nuun  while at work... not fun.  If you haven't heard about Nuun , you are probably wondering what it is! What is Nuun ?  Nuun   is an electrolyte tab that helps you "one up" your water to make a healthy, fruit flavored drink. Unlike most sports or electrolyte drinks it has no sugar, is under 8 calories and only equipped with the essential electrolytes and vitamins your body needs to replenish after activity.  The tubes are small and will fit perfectly in any purse/bag/briefcase, etc. They are eco-friendly and TSA approve

I'm back!

Hello all! I have missed writing lately but my life is been a little chaotic. Work has been absolutely insane and this last week I moved in with Anthony. A big step in our relationship. And then this weekend I found out that my mother was that severe car accident and she ended up being in hospital for four days but she's going to be okay. So with all this craziness I haven't had the time to be able to sit down and write a post. Things seem to finally becoming down and that's a good thing! This week Anthony decided to try out 24 hour fitness with me and he loved it and he signed up! So we gone a few times together now and it's been great. We have something we can do together and it's healthy! So it has been really nice to be able to work out and then sit in the hot tub at the end and just talk about our days.  We've have been training pretty hard in order to get ready for our marathon in May. We've been doing a lot of cross training, trying to build u
